an introduction to theCouponCook

Hello, and welcome to! Here you’ll find plenty of recipes for when you’re on a budget, as well as tips to make that dollar stretch, especially when it comes to food and cooking. You know how a lot of budget cooking sites have pretty and great sounding recipes, but they always dirty up so many dishes and take so much time? That’s what we’re here for. We understand how it is to not only be short on money, but also on time. Here you’ll find recipes that aren’t only delicious, but they’re also low-cost and easy to make, and also much healthier than having fast food every day.

A little bit about me:

My name is Skye, and I’m wife to my wonderful husband Jaryd. We’ve been through some tough times, including spans of time when our business made less than $200 in a month and wondering if we were going to have enough money to afford toilet paper when our last roll ran out. When you’re at that level of income, you quickly learn what you need and what you don’t really need (but thought you did). For a while it was Ramen two or three times a day. But then I realized something. If we cut some corners on some recipes, we’d be able to eat other things. We had every herb and spice imaginable, eggs were cheap, and there’s nothing wrong with reduced price foods. Even if we did have to be stuck with Ramen some days, it doesn’t have to be just straight up boring ole Ramen. That’s what spices are for, right? That’s when The Coupon Cook really started. That’s when all the ideas originated. Now I can share them with you, so that you don’t have to get tired of noodles like I did. Even your favorite foods can be converted into recipes that are affordable and easy to make with just a few tweaks!
